Me and You, Lord is a perfect resource to teach children how to pray.
There are pages filled with different prayers that we can use to guide our children in their conversation with God.
Each prayer page has some blank spaces for the child to fill in with the proper noun, verb and so on. While some younger children may not understand the concepts of verbs, nouns, adjectives, etc.; the authors have included a list of these words that children can choose from to complete the prayer.
It prompts the child to pray for family, teachers, pets, friends and even themselves to develop the fruits of the spirit.
There are prayers for people who have hurt us, people we know who are hurting and even for people we don’t know personally. There is also a prayer that can be said of the loss of a pet.
The book is sprinkled with cute illustrations and poignant bible verses. At the bottom of each prayer page, there is a tip for the parents to help guide the conversation with the child.
I found this to be a fun and delightful book that can help our kids grasp a better understanding of how to pray and who to pray for.
I recommend it for kids under 10 years.
