With a sweet story and pictures God Gave Us You is ideal for young readers. It followers the journey of a couple as they learn they are pregnant.
“Even the angels were celebrating for us.”
It follows how the baby grows bigger in mom’s tummy and even how the mother prays for the heath of her baby, including spiritual health.
“I prayed that someday you would love God.”
This book can bring tears to the eyes of any parent as they remember how eagerly they waited for their child to be born. I am particularly fond of the part where they hear the baby’s heartbeat for the first time. That was always an important – and relieving– day.
After a long wait, mother bear explains, “We raced to the hospital!”
This book can fit almost any family as it never discusses Jesus, just God, it could conceivably cover many faiths.
I recommend it as a good starting ground for young believers and their family. It also makes a great gift for a baby’s baptism.
However, I would caution that Christian parents not to forget to stress the God in the book is the one of our Lord, Jesus.
